1) How long have you been doing pilates? Why did you decide to teach?
I have been doing pilates since I was a high school dancer. During the winter break of my freshman year of college, my mother introduced me to Vault. I instantly fell in love and knew that teaching was something I was definitely interested in. I’ve been a dancer my whole life, but more so enjoyed the stretching and conditioning aspect rather than the actual movement; pilates is the perfect combination of the two.
2) Why do you love to teach at vault?
I love the motivating and supportive atmosphere at Vault. From the staff to the clients, Vault never fails to put a smile on my face. Specifically when teaching barre, I love to see clients singing and enjoying the music. It prompts me to sing along as well; the microphone makes me feel like a popstar:) I have made so many personal connections and can’t wait to grow a whole bunch more!
3) What is your favorite workout to do in your free time?
Coming from a dance background, my favorite workout to do during my free time is barre. I actually grew up disliking ballet, but using the ballet barre to do contemporary fitness exercises with a ballet base was the perfect way for me to finally love the barre! I also love to stretch as flexibility is my strongest suit.
4) What's one thing about you that most people don’t know?
Most people don’t know that I have a learning disability; I was diagnosed with dyslexia in 7th grade and had to relearn my ABC’s… not exaggerating! The body comes more easily to me than reading comprehension which is why I love to do and teach Pilates and barre!
5) What's the most rewarding thing about teaching pilates?
The most rewarding thing about teaching Pilates is forming the connection between a client and their body. From connecting the pattern of breath to exercises and working muscles they didn’t even know they had, pilates strengthens the body from the inside out, leaving clients with confidence and body positivity like no other.
6) What's your favorite thing to do outside of fitness?
Outside of fitness, my favorite thing to do is watch romcoms with my Grammee and go out to lunch with my Grampee. I’m very lucky to be able to do both very often<3
